EDUCATIONAL ADVOCACY
We provide support to parents in navigating all aspects of their child's educational process. In general, any time a parent has a question or concern about their child's education, we can help. Specifically, we assist parents who are navigating the special education process. We provide support by explaining the special education process and parent rights, reviewing evaluations and ARD documents, attending ARD meetings, facilitating input in IEP goals and objectives, advising during disciplinary processes, referring to community agencies and facilitating problem solving. The most important outcome is an appropriate educational program with required supports that is reasonably calculated to produce results. |
INDEPENDENT EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION
When a parent disagrees with the results of an evaluation conducted by a school district, they are entitled to a second opinion, referred to as an Independent Educational Evaluation conducted at the school's expense. We provide psychoeducational evaluations conducted by a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology with over 30 years of experience. The evaluation can include assessment of cognitive functioning, intelligence, processing, achievement, emotional status, autism, adaptive skills, learning, memory, processing speed, motivation and behavior. Each evaluation is designed specifically for the individual child to address concerns and provide information relevant for special education and program development. |
